“We found our—my dream house.”
John Wesby is a 36-year-old Philadelphia native who lives with his wife and three children in the neighborhood of Patterson Park. Wesby and his wife moved just East of the park in August of 2007. Despite the attractive real estate, his dream house's block suffered from "an open air drug market," and a handful of abandoned properties tarnished the curb appeal.
In Wesby's “Your Story” he speaks about the transition of his block, the lack of opportunities for young black males in the city, and the need for residents to invest in their community.
